Problem:
A Health & Safety inspection had shown unacceptable legionella counts. Tarn-Pure identified several infrequently used spirs and an inability of the calorifier to deliver required water temperatures.
The solution:
A Tarn-Pure unit was installed on the rising main and three non-essential spurs were removed. Subsequent tests showed the hot and cold water systems to be free of infection. The care home has now reduce hot water temperatures and remove all TMVs, making significant energy and maintenance savings. The Tarn-Pure ‘Protection Plan’ has helped spread the cost of the installation and reduced overall running costs. Tarn-Pure is now specified for all new builds undertaken by this customer.
